Despite potential setbacks due to COVID-19, the College’s Ambassadors accepted monetary donations for the tenth year of Here Comes Santa Claus, Shelton State’s annual donation drive for United Way agencies.
Shelton State Community College student organizations did their part to keep Alabama clean! In partnership with the 2021 Statewide “Don’t Drop It on Alabama” Spring Cleanup, the College’s students spent Fridays in April beautifying the Martin and Fredd Campuses.
In response to the heroics witnessed in the healthcare industry and out of a desire to provide assistance in the West Alabama community, Shelton State Community College began a new evening nursing class option in summer 2021.
Until 2021, Shelton State Community College’s welding program offered evening classes only to students interested in completing a short-term certificate. In summer 2021, students who were interested in completing the College’s associate degree option in welding during evening classes had the same opportunity.
Working in conjunction with other local sponsors, Shelton State’s Veteran Services and the Tuscaloosa VA Medical Center lent their support to the Tuscaloosa CommUNITY Event at the McDonald Hughes Community Center on Wednesday, July 21. The event was free, and all were invited to attend this community event for food, fun, fellowship, and services.
