Shelton State Community College Opens New Apple Computer Lab

Apple Computer Lab

May 24, 2019 – Following last year’s introduction of its Computer Science Technology (CST) program, Shelton State Community College recently completed renovations on the C.A. Fredd Campus that included the installation of a new Apple computer lab. The lab is designed to enhance the student experience for the CST program.

The computer science technology program allows students to become expert problem solvers with the practical and theoretical systems that underlie computer systems. As part of the program, students have opportunities to learn iOS programming for iPhone and iPad apps, tvOS to write apps for Apple TV, Swift programming for macOS and Linux, web development, and C++.

Computer Science Technology program graduates will be prepared for numerous entry-level positions in computer programming, application and software development, computer systems analysis, LAN setup and maintenance, and database administration.

Educational options are available for Associate in Applied Science Degrees, Certificates, and Short-term Certificates. App Development with Swift Certification is also available upon completion of specific courses and testing.
