Clock Hour Conversion Programs

Recent federal regulations require colleges to convert hours for certain certificate programs based on a national formula.  This means financial aid is not awarded by academic hours but by converted credit hours.  Most often this conversion results in a lower Pell payment per term. Please review the scholarship section of our website to look for additional funding opportunities.

Clock Hour Program - a program that is paid based on the number of actual hours the student attends each course

Cosmetology Program - please contact Rhonda Smith by email at rsmith@sheltonstate.edu if you are enrolling in the Cosmetology Program

Converted Credit Hour Programs

Please select your program of study and print the conversion information.  Your award status will be based on the financial aid converted hours, not the actual credit hours.

NOTE: You may be enrolled full time academically; however, your financial aid will be calculated at the financial aid enrollment status.  Please use the tables as listed in each program to determine your financial aid enrollment status.  All financial aid is awarded based on the financial aid hours.  If you have questions, please contact the Office of Financial Aid at ssccfinancialaid@sheltonstate.edu or come by the Office on the Fredd or Martin Campus.  Additional hours such as COM and MAH may be converted in some programs.  Please contact financial aid for questions.
