Once we receive your FAFSA application, you must log into your myShelton account and complete additional information. JUST COMPLETING THE FAFSA DOES NOT FINALIZE YOUR AWARD PROCESS. You are responsible for all information requested in your myShelton account.
The primary purpose of student financial assistance programs at Shelton State Community College is to assist students with meeting the cost of their education. Shelton State does not participate in any student loan programs. We only participate in federal grant programs.
All students are encouraged to apply. Eligibility for grants is based on financial need. Financial aid is designed to supplement the family's ability to finance the student's educational expenses.

Payment is due at the time of registration. The entire balance must be paid before the published payment drop date. If you receive any financial assistance you must review your online account or visit the cashier’s office to pay any outstanding balances. IF YOU DO NOT HAVE ENOUGH FINANCIAL TO COVER YOUR CHARGES, YOUR CLASSES WILL BE DROPPED.
Remember, financial aid only pays for courses in your program of study. If you are in the following programs your award will be reduced based on the federal converted credit hour regulation. Please review that section of our website for detailed information or visit the financial aid office.
